Easter 2011

What a fun celebration! The easiest way to recap our Easter weekend is through pictures, so here goes!:)

A few days before Easter we went and visited the Easter Bunny with Lindsey and Hunter.  I was fully expecting Nelia to completely freak out, but she absolutely loved the bunny. In fact, she loved him so much that she talked about him for days:)

On Saturday we went to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt with our friends Ross, Dorianne, and Camdyn.  The girls had a great time, even if they only got a few eggs.  Just wait until next year! They will be experts by then:)

On Easter morning Nelia woke up to her basket delivered by the Easter bunny:)   She loved everything, but she especially loved Ernie!

We started cooking Easter dinner and I was was lucky enough to have a little helper:)

We got dressed and waited for our guests to arrive...

This year we celebrated with both of our families and our friends Nate, Brysann, and Stella. The girls had so much fun together - they opened Easter baskets, ate a yummy dinner and dessert, and did an Easter egg hunt together.

Hope everyone had a happy Easter!!!

April 25th, 2011 - Happy 22 months!

Happy 22 months my sweet girl!

This has been a fun and busy month for us!  One of the coolest things that has happened this month is that you have started talking in sentences. I think my favorite is when you say 'more please' and 'hi mama.' It just makes my heart smile hearing your sweet little voice:)  I am happy to share that you have started saying 'yes' more frequently, which has been a nice and welcome change to 'no', which has been your favorite word for a few months now:)

Your vocabulary is expanding by the day! It's really quite exciting.  Being able to communicate with you is so much fun!  You mimic almost everything you hear, which means that we have to be extra careful what we say when little ears are listening:)

You have become little Miss Independent:)  You have to do everything on your own. Walk up the stairs, walk down the stairs, throw away your diaper, brush your own teeth, put on your own socks and shoes.  As a result, everything takes forever! It has definitely been a good test of my patience:)

Right now you insist that your baby doll or Elmo eats dinner with you. In fact, not only do we have to put them in their own little highchair, but we have to give them a little bit of your food to eat. Oh, the things we do for you sweet girl.

This month we went to the Puyallup Spring Fair with Lindsey and Hunter.  You absolutely loved the animals, especially the cows and the bunny.  It was so cute watching the two of you explore together - even cuter was when you two were walking around holding hands.  Makes my heart melt:)

We met some new friends at the park, sweet Camdyn who is just a month older than you and her equally as sweet mama Dorianne.  Hard to believe it took almost 2 years to meet them since we are practically neighbors:)  It has been so much fun getting to know them and I see many, many more playdates in our future!

We also had the chance to meet a few new babies this month.  Grace's new little sister Emma, who you absolutely adore! In fact, all babies we meet now are 'Emma.'  We are so excited for the Kincaid family and look forward to watching another little one grow up!  We also met baby Xavier, who is Carol's new little brother.  He is positively squeezable! Congrats Pena family!!! We also met baby Keira who is Aaron's new little sister - such a little sweetie!  This baby is close to my heart since your uncle Brent was like an uncle to Aaron and I know he would have been the same to Keira - so we have big shoes to fill:)

Love you little Nuggie:)
